Parents know how to inspire a love of books in babies and toddlers; just put them on your lap and start reading.  But as kids get older, it is a lot harder to inspire them to read so that reading can be seen as fun not work. Here are 9 ways to get teens to start reading again or for the first time.

And, as long as your kids are going to be reading, make sure they (and you) read these 2016 upcoming movie adaptations of kids and teens books before they come out.  You and your kids are going to want to read J.K. Rowlings short book Fantastical Beasts and Where to Find Them, which takes place 70 years before Harry Potter first arrives at Hogwarts. The film will star Eddie Redmayne as text book author Newt Scamander.  If you get started now, you and your kids can finish all the books before you go to the theatre!

Have a great week and don’t forget to use Common Sense.
